Do you have African Safari on your bucket list? Or do you swoon at the idea of diving into the pristine blue waters of Zanzibar? Do you dream of immersing yourself in Swahili culture? Whatever your reason for wanting to visit this beautiful place, it is a 1,000 times better when it is done with other like-minded people. The group meets at Kilimanjaro airport on May 4th. We drive from the foothills of Kilimanjaro to Tarangire national park before making our way to the great Serengeti. We pass through one of the 8 wonders of the world; The Ngorongoro crater before flying to Zanzibar to relax and play after this adventure of a lifetime. This incredible 12 day trip culminates in a full moon beach party at Kendwa rocks on the northern shores of Zanzibar. The group parts ways from Zanzibar airport on May 15th. There are 20 spots on the trip. Our team goes through all interested inquiries very carefully to ensure the right balance of people on each trip. We would love to learn more about you before we travel together!
Our team carefully reviews all applications. We are very intentional about who goes on these trips to ensure the best time for all. We believe that this is best experienced if it is done with others that are in the same place in life as you. There are surprise events throughout the trip to foster these connections. Research shows that some of the deepest, most meaningful connections are formed over travel.
Going out of your comfort zone does not mean being uncomfortable. Zahi Journeys is all about exploring and having the adventure of a lifetime, but we also realize how important comfort is to rejuvenate and make the most of your trip. We have been on many group trips and we have yet to see one with this perfect blend of luxury and adventure.
No one wants to feel like a tourist. The trips at Zahi journeys are designed for people that are interested in local experiences. Our Partners at BELLR Safaris are made of local guides and we work with local businesses to curate this trip, such as yoga teachers, artisans and more. Let us take you further and share our stories so you can experience Tanzania as more than just a tourist
Join us to see why the Ngorongoro crater is one of the eight wonders of the world and why it is lovingly called "Africa's Garden of Eden". The crater is teeming with game. After all here you have 25,000 animals in a 20 km wide, naturally formed Caldera
On the final night of the party, you attend the Zanzibari full moon that is held on the pristine beach of Kendwa Rocks. Each month people come from all over to attend this popular event. Dinner and show followed by a night of dancing. We couldn't think of a better way to conclude the trip of a lifetime.
"No one can return from the Serengeti unchanged, for tawny lions will forever prowl our memory and great herds throng our imagination.” - George Schaller. The endless plains of the Serengeti are one of the last accessible wild places on earth. Exploring the birthplace of mankind is nothing less of a spiritual experience. It is certainly hard to come back unchanged.
Zanzibar's beaches make trip advisor's list of top 25 beaches in the world and Zahi journeys takes you to the most beautiful one. Nungwi beach sits on the north coast of the Island beside a sleepy fishing village. But she isn't all beauty. This beach makes for incredible snorkelling and diving with several species of colorful fish, turtles and other marine life.
We don't just spend our time on pristine beaches with turquoise waters. Zanzibar's ancient stonetown has a rich history as a trading port. It is a place that has been influenced by various cultures including Portuguese, African, Omani Arabs Indian and so many more. This has left it with a unique and diverse people, culture and architecture. Walk through the narrow streets and let your imagination carry you to the days when the stonetown was the capital of the Swahili coast
Sameer is the founder of BELLR safaris and our key local partner in Tanzania. While Sameer now lives in Alberta, he was born and raised in Arusha, the gateway to the northern circuit national parks! Few people know the Safari business as well as Sameer.
Born and raised in Toronto, Alzahra now lives with her husband and 2 kids in Ottawa. She fell in love with Tanzania in 2015 when she visited with her then boyfriend. Cool fact about her? She is doing her pHd in population health. Her goal? To solve homelessness in Toronto
You heard us right! You are accompanied by a professional photographer on this trip. The photos of the experiences that you see on the website have been taken by Theresa, for BELLR safaris. Theresa hails from Calgary but you would never guess from her instagram page! She loves to travel. How far in advance do you need to let her know? Just enough time to grab her camera!

There is no other feeling in the world that parallels this.

Day 12: April 17th
Over the course of the day several of our fellow travellers say some of the most difficult goodbyes of their lives as they leave the group. We hear that you get tougher and goodbyes get easier as you get older. Maybe, but not for the 30 and 40 something year olds that travel with us. I guess we're still too young! you will meet people that will leave an impression on you for a long time! Till we meet again... Kwaheri!
