This Retreat blends restorative yoga perfect for recovering from the long safari days and brutal jetlag to allow you to be fully present for the adventure of a lifetime. Over six days, you'll explore the Serengeti with game drives and a sunrise balloon safari, followed by a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater. After the safari, there’s an optional extension to Zanzibar, offering a chance to unwind on the island’s beautiful beaches. The retreat combines adventure, relaxation, and self-reflection in some of Africa's most iconic locations.

Day 1: November 28th

Arrival. Meet & Greet

The group trickles in from all over. A Zahi Journeys associate will welcome you at the airport and bring you to the hotel. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and a "meet & breathe. This is a chance to meet your fellow retreat participants and setting intentions for the transformative journey ahead.

If you arrive early enough or the day before. There is the option to head to Mt. Kilimanjaro for a day trip.  We recommend arriving a day early if you wish to do this.

Day 2: November 29th

Transfer to Serengeti

We take a morning flight from Arusha to the Serengeti. After landing, we check in at the lodge and have some time to settle in. Enjoy your first afternoon game drive, where you'll explore the endless plains of the Serengeti and witness its extraordinary wildlife, from lions and elephants to zebras and wildebeest. In the evening we come together as we close the day off with a 30 minute sunset flow.

Days 3 to 5 – November 30 to December 2:

Game Drives, yoga and Balloon Safari

For the next several days, immerse yourself in the wild beauty of the Serengeti. Each morning begins with the trademarked Serengeti Flow: a dynamic practice inspired by the rhythm of the savannah — weaving together breath, strength, and fluid movement. It invites openness, balance, and a deep connection to the vast landscape within and around you. We then embark on the daily game drives. The morning drives will take you deep into the Serengeti, offering incredible wildlife sightings and the chance to witness the natural rhythms of the savannah. In the afternoons, you’ll return to your lodge for a relaxing break before heading out for another game drive. On Day 3, wake up early for a spectacular balloon safari at sunrise, floating over the Serengeti's golden plains as the wildlife awakens below. Each evening, gather for a restorative release to close off the day, where you can reflect on the day's experiences and connect more deeply with your surroundings.

Day 6: December 3rd

To the Crater

After our time in the Serengeti, we head to the Ngorongoro crater for an overnight stay. We explore a different part of the endless plains en route. After a day of exploration, unwind and reflect while enjoying the breathtaking views at the Serena Ngorongoro right on the rim of the crater. Before closing the day off we gather for a restorative release session.

Day 7: December 4th

The Magnificent crater

This morning we descend into the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro crater. Explore the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most unique ecosystems on Earth. Known as the "Garden of Eden," the Crater is home to an abundance of wildlife, including rhinos, elephants, and lions. After lunch we Return to Arusha and conclude the retreat. Reflect on the transformative journey you’ve experienced in the heart of Tanzania’s wild landscapes. Depart with a renewed sense of energy, connection, and deep appreciation for nature. If you are joining us for the next phase of our adventure, we fly right from a nearby strip to Zanzibar.

With most things included you should not need much cash. For souvenirs and tips for local guides you will need no more than a total of $500 - $700 USD

Once you book we will share a detailed package of everything you should bring on the trip. However, here are some things to consider:

1. Visa. For nationals of most countries, this can be obtained upon arrival for $50 USD ($100 for American citizens). So please arrive with the exact amount. You may also choose to get your visa in advance. This can be obtained on the Tanzania immigration website here. There are certain countries that do not require visas. The list of countries is found here. There is a small list of countries that require referral visas. These individuals cannot obtain visas on arrival. Here is a list of countries that require referral visas.

2. Vaccines & meds: The CDC website is a great resource for this. Please also consult with your family doctor or a tropical medicine clinic at least a month before the trip! Yellow fever vaccines is required ONLY IF you are coming from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. See if your country is on the list here. This also includes layover of more than 12 hours.

3. Passport. Of course don't forget your passport!

Yes we cater to all dietary preferences including but not limited to Vegetarian, Vegan, Kosher, Halal, gluten-free and all allergies.

We believe that there is nothing more pleasant than resting in luxury after a tiring day to recharge for the adventure the next day. Ofcourse the Four Seasons speaks for itself but all accommodation is in highest quality hotels. Please see accommodation section for more details

You may pay the full amount upfront OR pay in three equal- monthly instalments. Full amount to be paid 90 days before trip. 

You may cancel up to 90 days before the trip for a full refund (less transaction charges).

The base trip starts and ends in Arusha (November 5th to November 11th). The closest airport to here is Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). If you purchase the Zanzibar add-on, we recommend purchasing flight into Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) and out of Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) on November 15. 

Detailed schedule will be shared 1 month before the trip.

We recommend packing light to allow us to be agile as we move through the different safari destinations. We will share a full packing list closer to the trip!

Absolutely. Please let us know if this is something you wish to do. if you would like to stay on after the wellness retreat or arrive early, there is tons more to do in East Africa. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda, trip to Lake victoria, Lake Chala, Mombasa. These are just some examples of activities that can be arranged. Just ask us!
